The time to get started is now

Our online application has made getting started with Academic Answer an easy process. Here's how it works. Simply fill out the form provided by our servicing partner, AES, on their Web site. Be sure to have your contact information, Social Security number, driver's license, and two references not living with you on hand before you begin. Completion takes about 15 minutes.

When to consider a cosigner.

If you are concerned about being approved for a private loan, or you don’t have 36 months of credit history*, you might want to consider strengthening your chances by adding a creditworthy cosigner.

School certification

The Academic Answer loan requires school certification. When certifying a loan, the financial aid office will verify you are eligible for the loan amount requested. Your funds will be sent directly to the financial aid office to be applied to your account.

* Either the borrower or cosigner must have 36 months of credit history with three trade lines that are either open, paid off, or closed (none of which can be authorized user accounts), and at least one of the three trade lines must be designated as an installment or mortgage loan. Deferred student loans will not be considered as a trade line.
